Week Nine

Week Nine started with a huge spring snowfall. So much that the puppies could not get through the snow and Andy had to shovel tunnels through the snow so that they could get around. This week our "spring" litter has suddenly become a "winter" litter!  They are starting to get used to it and like true flatcoats they are now truly enjoying the snow - rolling in it, eating it and playing in it. The snow has affected our vet visit, which was scheduled for Monday, but we were snowed in, so it has been rescheduled for Wednesday (fingers crossed we will be able to get out!). Not surprisingly, there has been a bit more time spent indoors.

One of the new activities this week has been..... training.  Liz has started clicker training the puppies to do a few simple behaviours, such as sit, down and stand. They are also learning that they need to sit before getting a treat and that bad puppy behaviours such as yelling or leaping a foot into the air does not get them anywhere!

We got even more snow on the weekend, but once the snow melted, the puppies went for their first visit to the vet. They were surprisingly good in the van, whining a bit at first, but then settling and going to sleep for most of the drive. They all got a clean bill of healthy, their first vaccination and a microchip.
