Sadly we did not get any puppies from our planned spring litter. Everything was going really well until the very end of Lupine's pregnancy and for some reason the puppies did not develop properly, Lupine did not go into labour and we lost the entire litter. We hope to get some answers from an autopsy of the puppies. We are very fortunate that Lupine has come through it alright. Breeding dogs is not without risks and heartbreak.... this was certainly one of those heartbreaking times....
We do not expect to have any other litters this year.

| We expected beautiful black puppies with lots of bounce, drive and working ability from this breeding! And so far they seem to be living up to these expectations. Mikey is a small male with excellent bone, exceptional breed type, a strong front and rear and gorgeous movement. Mikey is a very successful show dog, with many group placements and the winner of the 2002 Flat-coated Retriever Society of Canada's Specialty Show, under British judge, Mrs. Peggy Miller. We have done some field training with Mikey and his owner, Bev, and he is very capable of bringing home the birds. Mikey has one Junior Hunter leg and his Working Certificate. Both parents have OFA Good hips, normal patellae, CERF (eyes) normal and gonioscopy unaffected.
