On October 24th, the puppies turned six months old. They are now entering the typical flat-coat "geeky puppy" stage - all legs, ears and tails! We hear from our puppy owners regularly and all ten are doing well in their homes. Most have been busy attending puppy classes and keeping their owners on their toes!  Here's a brief description of what they've been up to..... including photos where possible.
1. Storm (Blazingstar Brown Avocet)

Storm had a busy summer filled with camping and learning about water and swimming. He started puppy classes in the fall.
2. Dooley (Blazingstar Brown Dunlin)

Dooley especially enjoys walks along the beach and finding bits of dead birds..... He has also been going to puppy classes. Dooley is growing up to be a strapping lad, he's 57lbs already!

3. Macleod (Blazingstar Black Plover)

Macleod is growing up to be a handsome puppy with a sense of humour. We have had the opportunity to see him weekly in puppy obedience class and now at show training class.
4. Kitty (Blazingstar Brown Curlew)

Kitty has wormed her way into Karen and Paddy's hearts. She is growing into a very elegant looking puppy who still loves to retrieve. Kitty will probably make her show debut in January.

5. Tima (Blazingstar Brown Whimbrel)

Tima is the crazy brown puppy that stayed here. We are thoroughly enjoying her and her mischevious ways. She loves to retrieve, is learning quickly in obedience and even got a championship point at her first show, shortly after turning 6 months.
6. Tala (Blazingstar Black Turnstone)

Tala was the little black dervish in the litter. She continues to be a lively outgoing puppy. At 6 months Tala had a lump on her foot that got infected. She had to wear a cone while it healed and meanwhile she discovered that it made an excellent snow scoop! The good news is that the lump and infection are now gone.

7. Begbie (Blazingstar Brown Willet)

Begbie, once known as "the littlest guy" is growing up to be a big dog!  By 5 months old he had caught up in size with Indy (#10). Begbie is taking obedience and agility classes and enjoying lots of adventures with his family. He is already very adept at travelling in a canoe!

8. Dillon (Blazingstar Brown Surfbird)

Terry is keeping Dillon busy with obedience, retrieving and show training. He is going to his first show at the end of November. Dillon is growing up to be a handsome dog with a lovely head.

9. Harry (Blazingstar Black Stilt)

Often referred to as "Sir Handsome Harry Esq.", Harry is enjoying winter in the Arizona sunshine. He continues to be very interested in water and can often be found snorkling in the water dish.
10. Indy (Blazingstar Brown Ruff)

Indy lives close by, so we get to see him quite often. Another very handsome puppy, he won 2pts towards his championship at his very first show!  His owners are busy with his retriever training - getting him ready for hunting next fall.

And how about Tally.....?

Tally is doing very well. She has grown her coat back, is in great shape and is busy training in obedience, scent hurdle racing and some agillity. We recently noticed that she has a few gray hairs on her chin now. One for each puppy perhaps?
