Week Twelve
This week we said goodbye to two more puppies. Tiger (now "Indy") left on Saturday with new owners Katheryn and Brad. He will be living nearby, so we will get to see him often. On Monday, #7 puppy ("Begbie") was picked up by his new owner, Kim. Begbie will be living in Nelson B.C. with Kim, Will and their two children and older flat-coat, Tilley.

It's starting to get lonely here, with only three puppies left!

Tally seems to quite like having three puppies and she enjoys playing with them everyday. She still occasionally regurgitates for them, but they are no longer nursing.

This week we took the remaining puppies (Tima, Macleod and Harry) to puppy class and they got their second vaccination at the vet. They were reuinited with Indy at puppy class.

We have been getting regular reports from the puppies that have gone to their homes and even some photos. It is so rewarding to hear about how well the puppies are adjusting to their new homes, making new friends and charming everyone they meet.

#1 puppy, "Storm", is fitting into the family routine and is off for some camping adventures with his family. #2 puppy is now "Dooley", an Irish name meaning "dark hero", although his owners are threatening to change it to "Hooligan"! #6 puppy "Tala" has started puppy kindergarten and has made friends with one of her owners two cats. The other cat remains guarded about the new addition.

Terry reports that #8 puppy "Dillon" (in Michigan) has been out and about visiting friends and family. He has made himself at home and is getting along fabulously with her other two flat-coats. Terry sent us this very funny photo of Dillon howling (to the right)

In Minnesota, #5 puppy, "Kitty" is fitting right in with the rest of Karen's pack and loves to hang out with the big dogs. Just this week she found a children's pull toy and had a great time pulling it around the floor by the cord!  Karen sent us the photo below of Kitty and her new trick.

The three remaining puppies are enjoying life and all the extra attention they get now! We are working on some basic obedience (come, sit, down, stand, eye contact etc) and retrieving with them. They all get one-on-one time with us in the house and are learning important things like not to chew on furniture, some crate-training and house training. They are getting good at travelling in crates in the van and seem to get quite excited whenever it looks like we might be going somewhere. They weighed in at between 23 and 25lbs at the vets on Friday!
