Give ear to my words, O Lord,
consider my sighing.
Listen to my cry for help,
my King and my God,
for to you I pray.
In the morning, O Lord,
you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my request
before you
and wait in expectation.

                              Psalm 5:1-3

Thank you Lord Jesus for answering our prayers

Dear Lodewijk, Rena, Janita, Jeremy and Lorena,

The Lord is great, our comforter, it has been a great testimony\encouragement to me to see your trust and faith in the Lord through this very difficult time. You have been a great encouragement to many people, showing them that only in the Lord we can find such great strength. You went through a very hard time, but this journey is not over, that you may keep on looking to the Lord for the strength you need, and the decisions you have to make, for in Psalm 119:105 it says: "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." as long as we keep on following His path He will bless us and be with us, He hath never promised us it will be easy, but He did promised us that we will not be alone, He will be right beside us holding our hands.
It has been a great blessing to me to be able to be there, and to hold Lorena close, to get to know her, and to get to love her so much, it was a little bit easier to try to imagining what you went through, she defiantly is a wonder child, a very special girl.
It also was refreshing to see how much Janita and Jeremy love her, and understood the circumstances, and in that way were a big help to you, because for them it also was/is a very hard time.
As  we go through life we come across many challenges, but what a blessing that the Lord picked us from among all people to give us some what of a understanding who He is, and gave us a willing heart to truly believe in Him, and always gives us the strength we need to over come what he allows to happen to us. He will never give us more than we can carry.
So now we can say; Thank you Lord for first loving us, so we can love you back.
Keep on looking up, and putting all your trust in the Lord for He is good.

Love from your sister/sister in the Lord
Trudy

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name
of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal
life, and that ye may believe on the name of the  Son of God.

Dear Brobbel Family,

We feel like we have been so much a part of your continuing journey of faith with all of the challenges you have faced and continue to face. We feel like we are privileged to be a part of the chorus of voices offering petitions on your behalf to our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ. And we will continue to pray that He will enable you to persevere through the days ahead until you and your precious child are through this trial.

We want to give you some encouragement in a quote from John Piper in his book on Missions titled Let The Nations Be Glad. In the chapter on suffering under the last of 6 reasons he sees in scripture of why God appoints suffering for His servants, he says,  "It is because The Supremacy of Christ is Manifest in Suffering" and here is one paragraph that expresses how it works.
Gladly Will I Boast of Weakness and Calamity
I use the word "gladly" because that is the way the saints speak of it. One example is Paul saying, "I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses ... insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities"(2 Cor. 12:9-10). He says the same thing in Romans 5:3: "We rejoice in our sufferings." And the reason he gives is that it produces patience and a tested quality of life and an unfailing hope (Rom. 5:3-4). In other words, his joy flowed from his hope just the way Jesus said it should. And Paul makes clear that the reward is the glory of God. "We rejoice in the hope of the glory of God" (5:2). So it is the supremacy of God's worth that shines through Paul's joy in affliction.

Your messages express something of this, and we expect that your verbal testimony, especially to the medical people you are involved with around Lorena will see that too. So in a way, you are being thrust into a number of relationships where you are actually missionaries with a message of hope that they can see and hear as you converse with them about your hope and trust in Jesus Christ for the life and care of this little one.

Possibly (probably) this is why God has brought this trial and challenge to you. And may His grace be sufficient and enable you to rejoice in your suffering.

Hello Rena and Lodewyk, Janita, Jeremy and Lorena

I couldn't figure out how to add a comment to your comment page so decided to just email you and you maybe can cut and paste my comment in.

Trudy has forwarded all your pictures and updates to me right from the start and I have followed Lorena's progress with interest and yes, prayer, wow, what a journey you have been on!  I have also sent them all on to my daughter Joia (BTW her husband is a doctor).  What a sweet little girl you have whose parents have invested so much in her.  Putting your names together to form hers was a really cool idea and she will thus have that much more of you in her life forever. I have felt your love, your wonder at this little life, your despair at times, your exhaustion (oh my) and ultimately your appreciation of this priceless gift that God has given to you. Lorena truly is a jewel of great price and you have been entrusted with a precious life.

I want to encourage you to keep on keeping on and take one day at a time as you have thus far.  God is indeed your strength as he exchanges His strength for your weakness.  God bless you all in Jesus name.

Love in Him,  Judy Woodford
