Martagon Lilies

Martagon Lilies have a very different form than Asiatic Lilies.  They are approx. 4-5 feet tall, with numerous Turks cap blooms on the stem. They mature and multiply more slowly, but bloom earlier in the season than Asiatics.  Here in central Alberta the Martagons bloom in early to mid July.  They are very hardy, but do not like to be moved.  Sometimes they even remain dormant for the first season after they have been moved.   Generally it takes them a couple seasons to become well established.
