Mr. R’s is a family owned
and operated business that has proudly carried the Ski-Doo product line since
1984 and is operated out of Milo, Alberta, a small southern Alberta town of
115 people on the north end of Lake McGregor.
The dealership actually started as a Moto Ski dealership and evolved to
Ski-Doo when Bombardier dropped the Moto Ski lineup in 1983.
The dealership, owned by Ken
and Monnie Fetkenher, as well as their parents, Ron and Audrey Fetkenher have
always prided themselves on providing the best service possible to their large
customer base. Our Motto:
“If we don’t take care of our customer, someone else will.”
Over the course of 25+
years, a lot of highlights come to mind, most notable being recognized as
District, Western Canadian and National dealer of the year in 1995 and Western
Canadian dealer of the year in 2003 by their parent company, Bombardier - Ski-Doo.
It is here that Ken has made
some strong ties with Ski-Doo upper management and engineering and has
participated in testing new product, providing set-up and clutching info for
the mountain segment as well as volunteering insights on new product when
called upon. This type of
recognition is far more important to our staff than any awards we could
receive.
Our dealership has always
had strong ties to racing with Ken’s participation for 12 years in
Alberta’s NWSA oval racing circuit in stock, sprint, sno cross and Formula I
events. Highlights include trips
to Eagle River, Wisconsin in 1986 and 1988 where Ken reached semi final and
finals against the World’s best oval racers.
With our dealership leaning to a performance spectrum, we have
sponsored hill climb, sno cross, oval and asphalt race teams over the years.
Our dealership is unique in
today’s market place in being a one line dealer because of our large grain
farming operation; however modern technology puts us only a phone call or
e-mail away over the summer months. Our
customers have transcended over the years to become some of our best friends
and are always welcome.
The 2009 calendar year will bring an end to our
dealership as we have decided to retire our business after 25 years.
Although this was a tough decision to make for our family, we are now
at peace with our decision as it was our desire to go out on top.
Our doors will be open ‘til Jan. 1/2010 with Ski-Doo’s blessing and
we look forward to serving you to that point.
