Cairn at Beazer, Alberta

Taken from Cairn at Beazer, Alberta

Mark E. Beazer (Mark)

Founder of Beazer, was born in 1854 near Chimney Rock,
Nebraska, U.S.A. He married Ellen Burton and lived
in Kaysville, Utah until 1890 when he and his family
came to Canada to settle the land.

In searching for a homestead, Mark E. rode along the
high ridge north west of here and near that spot (where
a marker has been erected), he looked through the
beautiful green valley and chose this land for his future
inheritance, selecting land directly south of this marker
as his homestead.

100 years later, at the Mark E. Beazer family Centennial
reunion, June 1990, his descendants gathered to
commemorate the event and to erect this marker in
his honor.

Donated by Jennie MacKenzie,
daughter of Mark E. Beazer
