Jane Lowther Berry
Jane Lowther was born in 1889 in Sunderland, England.
She went to school there until she was 13 years old,
then had to go to work because of a large family. She
worked in a ropery with 700 other girls. Then on I I
Aug 1913, she and a sister came to live with an uncle
in Raymond. She went to work for a Mrs. Frank Holt
and Mrs. Christian Peterson in Welling, spending a
year or more there. She enjoyed her stay there and
talked about it as such. From there she went to
Woolford and Cardston where she married Thomas John
Berry in June of 1918.
