Mike and Anna Bohachuk

Taken from "Our Treasured Heritage-
A History of Coalhurst and District
Pages 263 - 264

Mike Bohachuk came to Canada in 1914. He came to
Winnipeg and couldn't find work so he came to Lethbridge
and then to Coalhurst. He worked in Coalhurst on top
and around the mine and then worked on the Coalhurst
dump, dumping the coal. He worked in Coalhurst until
the mine closed in 1935. When the mine was slack, he
would work for several different farmers.

Two daughters came to Canada in 1923. They stayed in
Winnipeg for three months and then came to Coalhurst.
In 1924, Mike's daughter from his first marriage, came
to Canada.

Mother and dad rented a Mine Co. house and also had a
two roomed shack in Wigan. They had a big garden on
a farmer's place so always had enough to eat.
