Taken from "Our Treasured Heritage-
A History of Coalhurst and District
Pages 266 - 267

Mr. and Mrs. John Brewer and family moved from Taber
to Coalhurst in 1920. Mr. Brewer worked at the coal
mine and also worked a small farm half a mile north of
the town. They bought the farm and moved there in
1923 about the time irrigation came to the area. In the
early thirties, Mr. Brewer milked cows and sold milk
and cream in the town of Coalhurst.

There were five daughters and two sons in the family.
The sons, Charles and Robert served in the armed
forces overseas in the second World War. Charles
was wounded in operations in France and died of his
wounds in September, 1944.

Mr. and Mrs. Brewer moved from Coalhurst to Lethbridge
in 1948.

Mr. and Mrs. Brewer, two daughters and two sons are
deceased.
