Aaron Cook and his wife Susanna, with their two sons, Aaron. A.
and Wilfred, came to Coalhurst from Bekevar, Saskatchewan
about 1911. Although Aaron had been a farmer he came to
work in the mine. Aaron Jr. emigrated to Hungary for one year,
returning to Coalhurst in 1912, where he also worked in the mine.

Adaughter was born in Coalhurst in1917. After that the family
left, and lived in Drumheller, Diamond City and Commerce. In
1924 they returned to Coalhurst. Just two months before the
explosion, Aaron Sr. retired.
