Charles was born in Lochee, Forfarshire, Scotland on
June 15, 1885. In 1910 he came to Lethbridge and
worked in the mines.

Charles and his parents homesteaded in the Del Bonita
area in 1912-1914.

Charles served overseas with the 113th Battery during
the First World War, 1914-1918. During this time his
father farmed his land.

He was employed by the C.P.R. in 1918. In 1919 he
married Rose Knibbs. They had three children. Charles
retired in 1950 and he passed away September 26, 1967
at the age of eighty-two years.

Rose Coyle is now a resident of the Golden Acres Lodge
in Lethbridge. She is eighty-seven years old. (1980).
One sister, Mrs. Nellie Rafferty died in 1972 at the age
of eighty. His other sister Mrs. Mary (Fisher) Gass is in
a nursing home in Edmonton.

His brother, Jack (Jock) died March 3, 1978. Jack's wife
Alice, lives in Calgary. His brother Andrew passed away
and his wife Peggy resides in Edmonton.
