Robert Dalton and Eliza Bramley Dalton

Heritage of the High Country
A History of Del Bonita and Surrounding Districts
Page 311

Robert Dalton was born in Yorkshire County, England, on May 12,
1849. He lived at York most of his life, where he was a railroad
man. He was a Sunday School teacher and treasurer of the
Acomb York Primitive Methodist Church for many years.

His wife, Eliza Bramley, was born on January 5, 1858. They
decided to emigrate to Canada in the spring of 1914, to follow
their son Ernest, who had first come to Canada in 1905.

They homesteaded on the S.E. 1/4 Sec. 10-TlR21-W4th.

Mr. Dalton was a very hard working man, and besides working
on this farm and helping his neighbors, he was janitor at the Del
Bonita School. In the early 1920's he developed ill health,
and succumbed to the illness on April 18, 1923.

Mrs. Eliza Dalton sold the farm to Fred Allen.

She returned to England for a visit in 1924, then came back to
Canada. She passed away on January 17, 1926. They are both
buried at the Magrath Cemetery.
