Alfred, the second child of Minna and Frederick Garrick
was born on October 17, 1902 at Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

He moved with his parents (Minna and Frederick) and three
brothers to Lethbirdge in 1906. The family next moved to
Wigan and, in 1910 they settled in Coalhurst.

Alfred grew up and received all of his schooling in Coalhurst.

He married the former Ada Ethel Fee in Nanaimo, B. C. on April
22,. 1922. Harry Garrick (Alfred's brother) was best man.
Their daughter was born in Coalhurst.

Alfred and his family moved to Victoria, B.C. in 1930 where
Alfred was employed with the water department for the
city of Victoria.

Ethel passed away on October 29, 1973 and Alfred on
May 19, 1979.
