Andrew Graham and Annie Graham

Water Works Wonders
A History of the White, Wilson,
McMahon, River Junction
School Districts Page 319
by Arthur Bell

Andrew Graham, father and grandfather, one of 1 1 children,
was born in Forth, Lanarkshire, Scotland, on Feb. 12, 1880.
He left his native Scotland in 1895 and came to Lachine,
Quebec. In 1899 he went back to Scotland for Christmas
and returned to Stockton, Manitoba and then came to
Field, B.C., where he stayed until 1902 when he came to
Lethbridge. He made another trip to Scotland for Christmas
in 1911 and met and married Annie. They returned to
Lethbridge on their honeymoon where he remained until his
death in 1943.

Andrew and Annie rented the E 1/2 of the S W 1/4 of 278-21,
(in the McLean School District), from Johnson from 1912 to
1915.

Andrew Jr. and Mary were both born while they lived there.
They stayed there until the fall of 1915.

Then the family moved to the White School District to the
Dainty's Farm which Andrew and Annie had purchased.

Annie W. G. Graham, mother and grandmother, was the
eldest of 9 children born in Wishaw, Lanarkshire, Scotland
on Dec. 26, 1886. She was married in Edinburgh, Scotland,
in 1912, to Andrew and arrived in Lethbridge on Jan. 25,
1912 on her honeymoon. Annie always wanted a trip back
to see her father and brother and sisters but was unable to
go until 1954, and was very disappointed in all the changes
that had taken place in 42 years.

Andrew Jr. and Annie made another trip to Scotland in 1962,
which she enjoyed very much.

Annie had a long active life and passed away Feb. 1, 1981
in her 95th year.
