MARY'S GENEALOGY TREASURES

The Hargreaves were in the Coalhurst district shortly after
the mine opened. Catherine (Kate) Donaghue came to Canada
on the H. M. S. " Virginian " on March Ist, 1912 and
proceeded west to the Kipp and Coalhurst district.
Here she met Reuben Hargreaves of Kipp and they were
married November 29, 1915.
Mother and Dad had three children born in Coalhurst:
William (Bill) was born on July 14, 1918, Thomas
(Tom) born October 28, 1920 and myself, Margaret Ann.
Dad worked in the mines, C.P.R. and when he mines
were idle in the summer months he worked on the farms.
Dad passed away while working in the mine. The
family later moved to Lethbridge.
Bill passed away in January 1945. Tom enlisted in the
Second World War serving overseas and passed away
January 20, 1962 leaving two children.
Mother stayed with us in Cumberland and she passed
away in 1966.
