Bob and Anne Hately and family came to Canada from England in June of 1926. They came over on a ship called Montrose.

They came to the Shanks Lake district and Bob worked for different farmers in the area. He also worked on road outfits. Horses were used to pull the implements. Anne cooked for the road crew.

Bob joined the army and his family stayed on the farm. He came home in March of 1945. Bob died in 1953 and Anne in 1969.
