William Dunn Henry and
Catharine Ellen Sharpe and Elizabeth Sharpe

Taken from "Heritage of the High Country-
A History of Del Bonita and surrounding Districts
Pages 376-377

William Dunn Henry, better known to all his friends and family as W. D. was born in Thornton, Ontario in the year 1866. He was one of a family of twelve children. He married Catharine Ellen Sharpe and they had two sons, John Sharpe, and Thomas Harris. Thomas Harris passed away in infancy. Catharine Ellen died October 15, 1910 at the early age of forty-six.

W. D. came out west from Ontario sometime during the year 1911. He was accompanied by his only living child, John Sharpe.

He stayed in the west about ten years living at times at Grassy Lake, Magrath, and Del Bonita. During this time he returned to Ontario, married again, and brought his second wife, Elizabeth Sharpe, to the west for a few years. They returned to Ontario, where W. D. passed away in 1928 at the age of sixty-two years.

While in the west he homesteaded a quarter section of land in the Del Bonita area, which his son, Sharpe, farmed for many years.

He was a devoted member of the Presbyterian church and loved to sing in the choirs. He had eight grandchildren, the family of Sharpe and Irella Henry.
