George Wren Holladay

Wren was born at Byron, Wyoming on January 7, 1906, son of Daniel William Holladay and Susan Eliza Marler. He came to Magrath with his family in 1912 and got all his education in Magrath schools.

Wren worked on the family farm as well as several other farms in Magrath and Spring Coulee areas. He also worked as caretaker for the Ist Ward Church, and two years at the Beet Dump. The last few years on the farm, he worked at the Pool elevator in rush times. Wren farmed in the Bradshaw area for 26 years. He was alternate delegate for the Alberta Wheat Pool, ten years as chairman of the Spring Coulee Telephone Co., ten years board member, as well as lifetime member of the Magrath Senior Citizens. For the past 20 years the Holladays have resided in their home in Magrath.

Wren married and had four daughters. One daughter, Sharon Jeanette is deceased.

Wren had eighteen grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.

Wren passed away at age 87 on February 28, 1993.
