Albert Johnson and Edith Johnson

Water Works Wonders
A History of the White, Wilson, McMahon,
River Junction School Districts Page 350

Albert and Edith Johnson, along with their son Charles,
born in 1921 and daughter Margaret born in 1923, moved
to Canada from the States in 1928. Albert bought 17
acres of land from Matt Bitango and built his family a
house. He drove truck for North Star Oil Company and
delivered gas all over Southern Alberta. Charles (Chuck)
didn't go to White School because of poor health - he
spent a lot of time in the Red Cross Hospital in Calgary.

Margaret attended White School for Grades 7, 8, and 9.
She told us she had a crush on Wilson McKenzie, the
principal. In 1940 Margaret married Doug Irwin. They
have two children. They also have four grandchildren and
one great grandson.

Margaret and Doug lived for a short time on the Cecil Place
and their son went to White School for a short time in
the spring of 1947. They moved into Lethbridge and
bought a home. Margaret passed away May 1994, Doug
in 1995.
