MARY'S GENEALOGY TREASURES
Harry Kostenko was born in Russia in 1889. Katherine Book
Harry Kostenko passed away April 17, 1958. Katherine
was born in Austria in 1892. Harry came to Canada in 1908
and lived in Coalhurst, Alberta. Katherine lived in Frank, Alberta.
They were married in Lethbridge on August 21, 1923, and he
worked in the Coalhurst mine until they bought a farm south of
Park Lake and resided there until their death. They took Steve
Wyrostok at his birth which was March 3, 1925. They never
adopted him or changed his name, so therefore he retained his
family name which he went back to in the later years. The
Kostenko's called him David Kostenko, also known by his
school friends as so. Steve joined the Navy on March 17, 1943,
was discharged on February 4, 1944 due to illness. He married
in Winnipeg on December 19, 1944; came back to Lethbridge
in 1945. He had four daughters.
Kostenko passed away November 6, 1965. Steve
Wryostok (David Kostenko) passed away January 3, 1963.
