MARY'S GENEALOGY TREASURES
George Lee was born in Burlington lowa in 1884.
He came to Pendant D'Oreille in the Etzikom
district in 1914. He married Addie Parkinson in 1919.
She was born in Cherokee County, lowa, in 1901,
and came to Canada in 1910.
They moved to the Spring Coulee district in 1924.
They shipped the lumber for their buildings by rail
to Bradshaw. George drove the horses and cattle.
They built the barn first and lived in a cookcar until
the house was built in 1925. It burned in 1944 and
was re-built in 1946.
George died in 1955. Addie now lives in Beverly
Nursing Home in Calgary. They had twelve children,
and ten are still living. The older children started
their education in Vernal School. It was closed in
1941 and then the Lee children attended Spring
Coulee school. The Christmas concerts were the
highlight of the school year.
Addie Lee has 34 grandchildren and 57 great
grandchildren, and 13 great great grand children.
Of the twelve children, Florence died in 1940
at age 17 and Georgina died in 1946 at 3 years
of age.
