The Lutheran Church

Heritage of the High Country
A History of Del Bonita and Surrounding Districts,
Page 110

The Lutheran Church has helped with Christian guidance in the
community. In the winter of 1973 Reverend Zimmerman held
Bible study meetings at the homes of various Lutheran
parishioners. These were greatly enjoyed by the families
who took part.

In 1974 non denominational church services were held in a
classroom at Del Bonita School, with good attendance.
Because of the interest of numerous people, a mid-week
Bible study group was organized for the children. This
is held on a school day and includes children of any
denomination, who care to attend. The teachers and
helpers are volunteers. The Magrath Lutheran Church
and Del Bonita United Church Ladies' Aid helped
financially with procuring the lessons and teaching
materials. Now the Bible Study group is self supporting.
The Bible Study classes, held after school, make it
convenient to receive religious instruction. At the
present time thirty-two boys and girls attend.
