MARY'S GENEALOGY TREASURES
Among the earlier residents of Coalhurst were the
George McLeod family who moved from Springhill,
Nova Scotia in 1910 with their children, a son and
daughter. Another son was born in Coalhurst in 1915.
George was employed in the mine as a pumpman.
Following a fatal accident while he was working,
Mrs. McLeod and family moved back to Nova Scotia
where she passed away a few years later. The
children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren
reside in the Halifax area.
