Fred Potter was born in Michigan, June 3, 1870.
He grew up in Rockford, lllinois, He married Emma
in Rockford, lllinois, August 15, 1895.

They had two children, Frances and Merritt. Frances
was born July 13 1897 and Merritt was born January 7,
1895.

They farmed in the Grassy Lake and Burdett regions
until 1924 when they moved to the Cardston District.

Emma passed away while living with her son Merritt
at Spring Coulee in 1954.

Merritt married Ella Gommerud. They farmed in the Raley
and Spring Coulee district until 1968 when they moved
to the Pioneer Lodge in Fort Macleod. Merritt passed
away in 1969, Ella Potter passed away on October 18,
1982, she was 91 years old.

Francis the daughter of Fred and Emma passed away
in 1984.
