  A French database which allows you to search a family name for free and lists all hits and the department in which it appears. It identifies individuals who have prepared genealogies on the name searched and allows you to consult those genealogies. A subscription is necessary to consult the commercial part of this database.
• Geopatronyme.com
  A very useful French database. You can readily locate a commune anywhere in France, identify its postal code and other communes within a maximum 12 km range. It will also provide you with a geographical distribution of a family name in the departments of France and indicate the number of births bearing that name for the period after 1891 and their distribution.
• Programme de recherche en demographic historique
  In 1966, the Programme de recherche en dmographie historique(PRDH, Research Programme in Historical Demography) at the Universit de Montral undertook the exhaustive reconstruction of the population of Quebec from the beginnings of French colonization in the seventeenth century. Database includes the repertory of vital events in Quebec 1621-1798, genealogical dictionary of families 1621-1765, repertory of couples and filial relations 1621-1799. Free Search and cost is very reasonable.
