John Sr. and Catherine Ramage

Taken from "Our Treasured Heritage-
A History of Coalhurst and District
Pages 484-485

John Ramage Sr. together with his son arrived in Coalhurst
the latter part of 1926. At this time they began working
in the coal mine. They were both experienced coal miners
coming from the coal fields of Fyfe, Scotland. John Sr.
was joined by his wife Catherine, a son and a daughter in
September, 1927.

John continued his work in the mine until the time of the
underground explosion. Being underground at the time
of the explosion, John received a back injury.

After the mine had closed operation, their daughter found
employment in Lethbridge and shortly after her mother
and father moved into Lethbridge.

John passed away in January, 1950 and Catherine in
July, 1952.
