Joseph Saccardo (Sept. 24, 1893 - Jan. 10, 1965).
Joseph Saccardo was born Sept. 24, 1893 in Riese,

he moved on to Coalhurst. The year was 1915, work

bride-to-be, Fiorina Gardin. Florina was born June 13,
1900 in Riese, Treviso, Itay. Once back in Coalhurst,
Joseph sent for Florina in May, 1923. She arrived in June,
1923 and thev were married in St. Platrick's Church in
Lethbridge on June 27, 1923. They then continued to
reside in Coalhurst and had a family of three children.
The family resided in Coalhurst until October, 1936
which followed the explosion of the Coalhurst Mine.
They then moved to Lethbridge.
Mine. He was employed with them for only a few
short years upon becoming ill, he was no longer able
to work as a miner. Upon improved health, work
was found at Catelli Foods, at which he was employed
until his retirement. Once retired. he spent many hours
in the garden, something he truly enjoyed. He passed
away, January 10, 1965 at the age of seventy-one.

enjoyed. She also enjoyed cooking and many
handicrafts at which she was so adept. Both
Joseph and Fiorina thoroughly enjoyed and
took time with their six grandchildren and the
great-grandchildren that later followed, Fiorina
passed away July 20, 1981 at the age of eighty-one.
