Robert and Emma Lena Tait

Spring Coulee and District page 330
by Committee

Robert Tait 1872-1944
Emma LenaTait 1872-1946

Robert worked in Alaska during the Gold Rush and
then moved to Spring Coulee where he farmed the land
situated on Section 24, TWP. 4, Range 24, West of 4th.
Their home was located on the Southwest corner of this
property.

Robert and Lena were very hard working people. Lena,
who was an immaculate housekeeper, would remove the
living room heater from the house in the spring and
wouldn't return it until fall.

Lena had two sons from a previous marriage. Both boys
lived most of the time on the B.C. coast.

John and Lena left Spring Coulee for a period of time
to live on the coast. While they were gone, they rented
their land to Les Taylor and then to Chuck Crabtree.
When it came time to retire, John and Lena returned
to Spring Coulee where they spent their final days.
