Mary and John Tymchuk, along with three sons and two
daughters, left Austria for Canada in 1912. They arrived
in Lethbridge where John found work digging, ditches for the
city.

A daughter, Helen, was born October, 18, 1913 in Lethbridge.
Eventually, the older daughters were married. In 1922,
John passed away, and in July, 1924. their youngest son
,Michael, passed away after a short illness.

Mary, and her daughter. Helen, moved to Corbin, B.C.
and then to Coalhurst. Mary took in boarders and managed
to make a living. Helen also helped by doing, housework
for the family of McMahon.

In 1940 Helen moved to Kirkland Lake, Ontario, where
she married. She passed away in May 1942, at the age of 28.

Mary moved back to Lethbridge to reside with her daughter
until her death in 1958 at the age of 84.
