- The Joiner Marriage Index
This database started as an index to cover the years 1813-1837 for the southern
part of County Durham where the parishes had not been covered by Boyd's Marriage
Index. It was then extended to cover the years 1800-1812 for non-Boyd County
Durham Parishes and then on to North Yorkshire 1813-1837 where Boyd is thinly
represented. Gradually the index evolved into a database and has been accepting
marriages for all dates before 1837 from a number of parishes. At present it
contains details of over 385,000 marriages in 442 parishes, although the index
referred to later has the results of nearly 194,000 marriages, in 197 different
parishes

- IGI
Batch search program -Hugh Wallis Website
The LDS Church has organized the records in the
IGI into 'batches'. These batches relate to how and when the information
was extracted from source material. For each batch Hugh Wallis extracted
the church or chapel (if specified), town, county and country names of
the first record that appears when it is called up in a browser. He then
organized them by country and county. He has included a hotlink from
each batch number to the actual search engine provided at http://www.familysearch.org,
including the ability to enter the surname you are looking for. This makes
it very easy to search all the batches for a particular geographic
location using just the last name you are searching for - something that
is not possible directly from the LDS site without doing a lot of typing.
