Wm. Van Buuren Sr. was born in Holland in 1898. He

William Van Buuren Sr. passed away March 9, 1957.
immigrated in 1923 to farm in the Saskatoon area.
Three years later he went back to his native Holland
and married Annie VanderKamp. She was born in
Holland in 1896. They returned to the Saskatoon area
for almost a year. They came to Coaldale in 1927 for
a short time. After which they moved to the Coalhurst
district. They farmed the J. I. McDermott farm for a
number of years then moved to the Art Morgan
homestead which was two miles south of Coalhurst.
We were the second owners of this farm.

had milk cows, mother used to make homemade butter
to sell to the stores in Coalhurst. In later years we sold
milk and cream to the Thom Dairy - then later cream to
the Cyrstal Dairy, Lethbridge.

A son Harry dead at age seven. Memories of our home life
were-, riding in a horse and buggy to church in Coalhurst.
Regular visits with our friends the Martin Van Leukens in
Lethbridge. Stuart Falconer, our ditch rider stopped at the
house for coffee and getting rides in his buggy. Our first
Model A. car, then graduating to a 1935 Ford. Sunday
visits to our Aunt and Uncle's the Abens. Walking to
school in our earlier years, then getting to ride on Mr.
Firths Lethbridge school bus.
Mother stayed on the farm for a few years, then moved
into Lethbridge. She passed away March 6th, 1971.
