| ABOUT THE AUTHOR | |
Born in Saskatchewan, Canada, Elaine Bailey moved to Calgary, Alberta
to attend college. She worked in library services for a number of years.
Marrying into the military life created an opportunity for travel and,
as a result, she lived in Europe, most provinces of Canada and travelled
extensively. Her love of cats led her to write two books "Cat Tails"
and "Cat Paws" before deciding to embark on her dream of creating
a children's book. Of course, some of her cats have been included in the
story of "Charlotte R." She takes great pleasure in working
with her son, Christopher, as his illustrations bring her characters to
life. When not writing, Elaine Bailey enjoys taking some of her six cats
to visit schools, hospitals and nursing homes. |

| ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR | |
Christopher Bailey is a freelance illustrator. He has already illustrated
two previous books "Cat Tails" and "Cat Paws" written
by his mother, Elaine Bailey. This is the most ambitious undertaking thus
far for Christopher and he has captured the characters' personalities
of "Charlotte R" through his art. Christopher had his first
showing of art work at the age of nine. In high school, he received an
award for architectural design, but his favourite art form is medieval.
His only training has been the occasional art class offered in school
and, as a result, his natural ability is evident in all his work. Born
in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, he grew up in a military family
and was able to travel and live in many places, thus expanding his knowledge
of different cultures. When not drawing, he is busy at his other job as
a professional cook, where his creative talents are also evident.
