Dianne

Dianne is my second child, one of the twins. All through my pregnancy I figured I was having twins. At one point I miscarried one fetus and they could only hear one heartbeat. They insisted right up to the last minute that I was not having twins. I said twins or an octopus. I had no labour to speak of with the twins. Tom got home after an evening shift, we had a snack and started for bed. Wham! I went straight into hard labour. Barely made it into the hospital. Thank goodness for neighbours. The doctor didn't even show up until after Dianne was born and surprise! there was another one on the way out, a big boy, John. Dianne weighed less than 5 pounds when she was born and had to stay in the hospital a little longer. She was the athlete in the family and enjoyed crafts.

Christmas 1999 found four generations of us girls together. Dianne gave me the best present a Mom can ever receive. She wrote a poem about her life and printed it up and bound it into a little book that I shall treasure the rest of my life.
