| Melt butter. Stir in sugar, corn syrup and salt. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Then cook gently without stirring for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add vanilla and baking soda. Stir and pour over popped corn, stirring to coat evenly. Bake in oven at 250 ° for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool and break apart.
Note: Can be used for popcorn balls. Instead of baking, form into balls and wrap in plastic wrap. Makes about 27 balls. Great on Christmas tree. Great both ways.
