Flying Horse Prairie Oysters

 

Prairie Oysters are a tradition at the Flying Horse Co.. They are cooked up and served at brandings everywhere in the west. Wherever you find cows and cowboys, then you're sure to have Prairie Oysters.  You can also find Prairie Oysters served down at Henry's Golden Lotus Flower Cafe.  It's something you just have to try!

Even if you aren't a sea food lover, Prairie Oysters are something you just have to try at least once in your life. Just make sure you have lots of hot sauce with you!

 HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED:

1.   Double skin your prairie oysters

2.   Soak them in milk

3.   Combine the bread crumbs, poultry seasoning, sage, garlic and salt and pepper

4.   Roll the oysters in the crumb mixture

5.   Fry the oysters in butter until golden

6.   Serve them hot out of the pan with dipping sauces or Tiger Hot Sauce

7.   Cold beer seems to go down pretty good with hot Prairie Oysters!
