I am iron, at Thorwulf's hand I learned what it is to be strong.
I am brass, at Thorwulf's hand I learned to glow with the beauty of gold.
I am gem, at Thorwulf's hand I learned to dazzle and gleam.
I am leather, at Thorwulf's hand I learned to protect and bend with grace.
I am beeswax, at Thorwulf's call I learned the power of union with leather.
I am cedar, at Thorwulf's bidding I learned to fly true to the mark.
I am cloth, on Thorwulf's form I learned what it means to be worn with style.
I am ink, at Thorwulf's hand on paper I learned to sing and celebrate.
I am pumpkin, at Thorwulf's hand I learned my evil laugh.
I am brother, in Thorwulf's company I learned true brotherly love.

[ I wrote this prose poem on the occasion of Thorwulf Bjornsson having to give up both heavy metal working and SCA combat due to accumulated injury. 2011-June-02.]
