This summer has been wonderful. After all the stresses of selling and buying a house, moving jobs, seeing doctors, etc. this summer is just one big happy flow.
If you'd ask Berend he would certainly ask that flow to be blue and preferably body paint which he could apply freely all over himself. Over the past few months, Berend has been surprisingly persistent in his love of blue: The latest craft (a painted pumpkin) ended up a big blob of blue. He also prefers blue clothes. A blue shirt with a tiger on the front is extremely hard to beat, unless it also has stripes like a tiger. Berend has been a savvy user of the toilet and this picture on the left, which I took on his request, proudly presents his flushing skills.
Speaking of taking pictures, Berend has also mastered the basics of how to use our digital camera, and has spent much of the summer exploring this new medium. We think he has a great eye for composition, as demonstrated in this masterpiece "Dexter with still life." And then the joy of letting the flash go knows no limits. A wild chase of flashes whips through the house until the batteries are empty or the memory is full. Berend took many other pictures on this page as you may have guessed.

| It was great to hang out with friends and familiy in Germany (the whole Imhof clan in and around Frankfurt and Astrid's kids a little further away which gave Berend a chance to ride the ICE - "the fastest train in the whole world"). |

| It was sad to say goodbye to Maya, a girl with a very stable taste of color, and her family of women. They have now moved to Victoria and we promise we'll stop by for a vacation as soon as we can! |
