GROUP I mix together and set aside:


GROUP II mix together and set aside:


GROUP III mix together and set aside:


Grease and flour one 13x9-inch or two 9-inch pans. Preheat oven to 350 F.

Whisk group I into group II. Stir into group III until just combined.

Pour into prepared pan(s) and bake until cake springs back when lightly pressed, or cake tester comes out clean. Baking times will vary depending on the pans used, but start checking the 9-inch rounds after about 25 minutes, and the 9x13 after 40.

This cake is great eaten plain, and even better frosted with chocolate ganache.
