This is a copy of the hand-written portion of the first land grant issued to John Reynolds.
It appears that this land was originally issued to a George Brown and later relinquished
for re issue to John Reynolds in 1859.
John Reynolds his Heirs and Assigns a Tract of Land situate in the Parish of Manners-Sutton
in the County of York in our Province of New Brunswick, and bounded by the follows, towit:
Beginning at a Stake standing at the Southeastern angle of lot number Ninety-four purchased
by Joseph Gass, on the westerly side of a reserved road, East of the Northeast Branch of the
Magaguadavic River; thence running by the Magnet of the year one thousand eight hundred
and fifty-seven, West thirty-one chains and sixty-three links to a Stake; thence South thirty-one
chains and sixty-three links; thence East thirty-one chains and sixty-three links to a Stake
standing on the Westerly side of the Road first above-mentioned; and thence along the same
North thirty-one chains and sixty-three links to the place of the beginning; Containing one hundred
acres, more or less, distinguished as Lot Number Ninety-five East of the Northeast Branch
Magaguadavic River.

situated on the other side and upstream on the Magaguadavic River where the original homeplace
stood. I recall as a child when my father walked with us to a site between the existing house and
the dam and showed us the place where the original log house was built.
John F. Reynolds his Heirs and Assigns a Tract of Land situate in the Parish of Manners-Sutton in
the County of York in our Province of New Brunswick, and bounded by the follows, to wit: Beginning
at a Yellow birch tree Standing at the north-easterly angle of Lot Number Ninety-nine granted to
Thomas Davidson on the Westerly bank or shore of Magaguadavic River in block Twenty-six; thence
west fifty-one chains; thence north twenty chains to a Spruce tree; thence east forty-nine chain to a
Yellow birch tree Standing on the Westerly band or shore of the above-mentioned river and thence
following the various courses thereof down stream in a South-easterly direction to the place of beginning;
Containing One Hundred acres, more or less and distinguished as lot number ninety-eight on the Westerly
bank or shore of the Magaguadavic River in block twenty-six.
