Brief History of McGowan Family

A few years back, George McGowan and his mother, the late Pauline (Little) McGowan, compiled a history of the McGowans and their relatives in a Story called Genealogy of John McGowan, Rollingdam, Truth and Tale.

This was a very extensive Family Tree which began with John McGowan and expanded to include over 1000 names and a 48 page Text Story. This "Story" has now been added to this site. It includes an Introduction, list of Acknowledgements and 23 Chapters. There are many photos yet to be scanned and added. Please remember when reading this story that it was written in 1992 so some aspects may be a bit out of date. The most noteworthy of these changes is the fact that the co-author, Pauline (Little) McGowan passed away.

As George McGowan is the author of this McGowan History, he can be considered as the "expert" and has volunteered to field all questions, comments and suggestions at his e-mail address: gjmcgowan@rogers.com.
