I have been able to find very little information on George McGowan (#15). He was born on Feb. 15, 1874. He was "best man" at both his sister Susan's wedding and his brother Robert's wedding. On Jan. 30, 1913, at the age of 39 years, he was married to Blanche Bascom in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He had at least two children: Ronald and George, Jr. In 1948, at the time of his brother Robert's death, it was recorded that he was living in Warm Springs, Oregon.
Note Late in 2005, George McGowan (the author of this History) got in contact with some of the descendents of George Patrick McGowan in the Northwestern United States and has received some further information.
To date, we have learned that George Patrick McGowan and Blanche Basom were separated sometime between 1920 and 1925. Blanche later married Loyal Hopkins and changed the names of Ronald and George to that of their Stepfather. They are listed in the family tree website, www.telusplanet.net/public/reynok with surnames of McGowan/Hopkins and their dependants as Hopkins. They are all believed to be living in the north-western USA.
