SOUTH OF MARKET — The Vernissage Exhibition opening on August 11 at Sculpturesite Gallery marked the grand opening for this indoor-outdoor venue that is San Francisco's only gallery devoted entirely to sculpture. Vernissage features 22 artists who demonstrate a meticulous range in craftsmanship that include massive expressions of spacial dominance, as well as interactive, kinetic and minimalistic forms of modern influence.
Ryan McCourt, ryanmccourt.ca, from Edmonton, Alberta, was pleased to present his work in an exhibit that supports his vision of diverse forms. "I wanted to show a range of my works, which in the front of the gallery I have an architectural work, and by contrast, this work ("Man O' The World") is a more figurative work," said McCourt. "It's great for me in that it shows the range I am working in."
The Vernissage Exhibition runs through October 8. Sculpturesite Gallery is located at Convention Plaza, 201 Third Street, at Howard. Visit the website at sculpturesite.com, or call (415) 495-6400 for more information.
