Birdfinder Kennel is located in Lacombe, Alberta, Canada. Halfway between Calgary and Edmonton. Although we live and work in town, we play on an acreage located near a major migratory bird flyway. We participate in hunting grouse, pheasants, ducks and geese. 

By hunting, showing and competing in obedience since our involvement with Griffons, we are striving to produce dogs that are truly versatile, companion birddogs that have a strong natural ability and good temperaments. Our dogs are certified that they are not dysplastic and their eyes are CERF certified normal prior to being used as breeding stock, and they are backed up by a written guarantee and references. Birdfinder pups are microchipped, we hope this will aid owners in a safe return of their dogs should they ever get lost. We use fully registered PETNET microchips they can be reached at 1-800-PET-NET5 for any changes that are required.

Birdfinder Kennel is owned by Shirley Flinn, and we are involved with all aspects of the sport of dogs. Birdfinder’s  has owned or bred the Number 1 WPG in Conformation in Canada from 1990-1995,1997 and 2000, 2001, and 2002(Based on Dogs in Canada point system). Other years Birdfinder dogs have been in the top 5 consistently. We owned the Number 1 WPG in Obedience in Canada, 1995-1996, 2001-2002. The 1999 and 2000 number 1 Obedience Griffon was bred by Birdfinders. Chosen by Purina as one of their “Champions 2001.”
