Petroleum Economics for Windows

Description

PEc for Windows is an easy to use package to determine the economic worth of petroleum projects using a network of facility nodes to represent the physical gathering and processing system. The network consists of wells, batteries, separators, compressors, gas-processing plants, delivery stations, and pipelines. The network is created by first defining the system nodes. At each node, capital and operating cost can be specified. Process losses can be entered at nodes where there is fuel and losses. At the well nodes, production/injection forecasts can be entered or generated using popular decline forecast methods.

The data is easily entered, edited and carefully verified on various screens. The screens are specifically designed to allow the user to view all the important information, and quickly make changes. Data may also be entered on a field network diagram. Before the economic worth is calculated, all data is again verified and checked for inconsistencies or input errors.

Numerous reports and graphs can be selected, printed and exported to review the generated forecast for each node in the system.

Application

PEc for Windows facilitates the following technical analysis:

·    Determine the economic worth and economic reserves of petroleum projects.

·     Investigate infill drilling, compressor optimization and determine optimal development strategies.

·    Generate corporate gas supply forecasts.

Input Data

The user enters defines a network of components (batteries, separators, field compressors, gas plants and delivery points) , connects the components with a network of pipelines, and defines capital costs, operating costs and a production/injection forecast for each well

Output Data

This program generates both graphs and report format output. Many different graphs and reports are available. Output includes :

·         Total system production / injection forecast.

·         Capital cost forecast.

·         Operating cost forecast.

·         Royalty forecast.

  • Before / After tax forecast.

·         Economic parameters.
