Testimonial by Lea Patterson

I NEVER WANT TO GO ON A MISSIONS TRIP!  These were the words I proclaimed to my college and career group New Years Day of this year. As soon as the words escaped from my mouth, I knew God was going to make me eat them!  One week later at Joy Chapel, Henry approached me to be one of the volunteers he would be taking to Romania. I really never hesitated. I went to work and booked the time off.
I am so glad that I took up Henry's invitation to come. It was the most rewarding thing I have ever done. Being able to love these kids and give them attention they so desperately craved. Being able to witness how our best laid out plans may not be God's plan.  We were really disappointed when we were told we could not sing  songs or talk about Jesus but God is in control. We had already shared His gospel, the seed had already been
planted, our love already shown. That was something they could not take away from us or from the children. The very next day after we were given our ultimatum. No singing, no preaching, we were all gathered in the orphanage kitchen and a boy leads out singing the songs we were told not to sing. I was taken a back. Those songs were planted in that boy's heart and soul and that is something that can not be taken from him! God works out his plan for those who love him. God is doing so much for Romania and opening so many doors. I am so thankful to have been a part of that.

Testimonial by Amanda Patterson

It was a blessing to have been chosen to join Henry and the others on our trip to Romania. It was a wonderful opportunity to combine my passion for working with special needs people and my passion for missions. Through my experience in Romania, God taught me so much and He emphasized the importance of following His leading for my life. God also taught me through this trip that missions work isn’t always (in fact, rarely) laid out in a neat package for us but it requires a lot of faith in Him. And mostly I will never forget the brothers and sisters I met and the children I worked with. I am blessed to have been a part of something that has helped open doors for further ministry in Romania. If the Lord wills, perhaps I will be a part of this ministry again and if not in Romania then somewhere else...God only knows!

In Christ

 Testimonial By Nancy Madsen

God lead me to Romania and asked me to step out in faith and trust Him. This trip has changed my life and how I view things. I learned a lot while I was there but it all came back to trust. In a strange country surrounded by children who do not speak English I came to realize that all I had to do was trust in God and He would work it all out for His glory. It may not have gone the way we thought it would but God was at the center working everything out. God has planted seeds in those children’s hearts and shown them His love through us. I walked away with a better appreciation for all I have been blessed with and a closer walk with God the maker of us all. God is good. He has blessed me immeasurably with giving me this opportunity.
