SUNDAY SCHOOL AND CHURCH WORKSHOP OUTLINE

LIFE SKILLS

  • To Teach: Why should I have to?

  • Things That Need To be Taught: This includes personal hygiene.

  • Sample Behavior Chart: Helping them learn to control their anger and look for solutions.

  • Dignity: Helping the individual maintain and build self esteem and dignity.

  • Overheads - How to help a learning disabled person keep a paper route for example. (If they can't read and have trouble remembering)

  • Task Analysis; how to break a job into steps.

TEEN WORKSHOP:

Areas covered include personal relationships, becoming independent.
