The Blazn Fast team for the relay estimates follow below. Everyone should be at the start of their leg about 30 minutes ahead of time, 45 minutes if you are running in the second half. We are team 111. Runners should check in with me at the the start of the leg before theirs at the teams estimated start for the leg previous to theirs. Although our team has a widespread range of abilities we may actually place in the men's category since there are only 4 teams in that category. This means you will want to stick around for the draw prizes and awards at the meal in Fort Calgary after the race.

For those not racing this weekend have some great training. For triathletes ... New Swim masks. Have you tried the new seal brand mask? I just did this last week and WOW. The vision is improved about three-fold and the comfort level is just awesome.

Take care out there and remember to think Blazn Fast!

Hydration. Last article we talked about nutrition in general, this week I bring up hydration. With the warmer weather approaching we often forget to get in enough fluids before, during and after our workouts and races. Not only will you find that you perform better during the actual workout but that you recover faster and will be in better condition between runs. Each persons hydration needs will differ but if you find at any point you are not sweating consistently in the later stages of the workout or race, or if you are not making a few trips to the bathroom over the course of a day that you are possibly under-hydrating. On the other end, overly excessive hydration has its problems as well so try to keep a moderate approach, as with all aspects of training.

Don't experiment in a race either. Remember, think Blazn Fast out there!

Use the members training log area to track your training and lets see how the progress goes.

Race Reports

This week it is not really a race report but on April 20th Strater, Bob, Alex and Richard took advantage of a long group ride with the better weather that day. Despite the early start in colder weather where the feet were borderline frozen the 50 mile plus ride was a welcomed break from the snow and winter conditions. Of course the weather turned again and we were sent back to the trainers. Rumor has it that Alex is still racking up the mileage on his indoor trainer and the way he rode everyone into the ground it sure appears to be paying off.
