Claiming Your QSL Cards
The VE/VA6
incoming QSL bureau ONLY operates using the RAC defined
"method B". That is where the client provides funds
(cash or cheque) to the bureau and the bureau provides
postage, envelopes and other packaging required. The
bureau charges, as in the past, the actual cost of postage plus
a service charge of 20 cents to $1,
depending on the volume of cards shipped and packaging requirements, per mailing. The
bureau will provide appropriate packaging to minimize the risk
of card damage. The service charge is required to keep the bureau in a
self-funding position.
Some amateurs have more than one
call. While your bureau will try to package cards for multiple
calls together you will likely receive separate mailings for
each of your multiple calls, especially if your calls fall
into different letter managers grouping. The incremental cost
for multiple mailings is minimal.
To have your cards regularly
mailed to you, all that is required is that you provide funds
to the bureau. We suggest that you maintain a minimum balance
of $5.00 or more depending on your expected card volume.
If you want to know if you
have cards or your funds
balance at the bureau (your balance will appear on your mailing label when you
are mailed cards), you can
contact your letter manager by phone or email.
You can pick up your cards in
Calgary if you make prior arrangements with your letter
manager.
